1994 Trans Am GT M6 Worklog
Sept 2014
- repaired PCV to intake hose (temporary, need U hose)
- repaired small vac leak in EVAP hose
- removed breather filter and replaced with custom air inlet hose from passenger valve cover to TB
- checked and repaired damaged push-in oil fill caps
- replaced torn intake elbow with fabricated EPDM rubber elbow
- reversed battery orientation
- reconditioned/replaced all high amperage wiring and grounds as necessary
- replaced failed starter (no crank while hot)
- reattached damaged driver window trim (b&e damage) some fasteners still damaged
- fabricated custom fuel line heat shield
- installed starter jumper relay (passenger fender)
- removed faulty remote battery interrupt solenoid
- replaced knock sensor pigtail (wire broken during starter install)
- replaced temp (gauge) sender
- repaired open circuit fault in temp sender wire
- replaced taillight sockets and repaired bad splices
- removed outer 192 bulbs in taillights, unrepairable
- removed AIR pump and plumbing
- removed AIR metal cross-pipe
- capped off AIR ports on manifold
- disassembled and cleaned MAF sensor
- tuning - corrected speedometer, bypassed skip shift, disabled AIR tests
- tuning - raised idle timing and lowered idle speed
- installed single exit dynomax VT muffler, side dump, 3" in and out
- installed used passenger headlight assy (still requires alignment)
- removed K9 alarm system module
- repaired splices to door lock remote actuator
- bypassed starter interrupt relay from alarm
- removed inop radar detector module and sensor
- cleaned up and secured under-dash wiring
- re&re center console and replace missing fasteners
- repaired splices @ tail light wiring
- removed old amplifier level control (amp gone)
- keyed power steering pulley due to excess shaft clearance
- removed power supply for faulty dash lights
- rewired stereo harness due to faulty crimps
- reconnected foglights, always hot (need to wire to switched power)
- removed damaged headliner
- coated rusty seat mounting studs
- rebuilt dimmer dimmer switch
- repaired damaged fasteners on t-top holders
- realigned wiper arms
- replaced wiper blades
- added tiestrap mount for passenger wiper shield (original fasteners broken
- changed engine oil with ac delco filter and 5w30 yamaha synthetic with 500ml of gm engine oil suppliment
- changed transmission fluid with dextron III atf (aka gm manual transmission and transfer case fluid)
Oct 2014
- deleted all exhaust heat shields for extra clearance
- installed new front brake rotors (warped)
- replaced missing floor pan plugs
Nov 2014
- shortened antenna
- bypassed throttle body coolant
- caulked drivers side weatherstrip
- upgraded battery to terminal block wiring
- upgraded battery to alternator wiring
- replaced alt regulator signal wire
- replaced passenger headlight harness with rebuilt used replacement
- removed alternator and repacked rear torrington bearing
- re-torqued bolts on accessory bracket
- repaired power steering pump pulley
- replaced serpentine belt
Dec 2014 to Feb 2015
- epoxied drivers side window weatherstrip to door panel. clip mounting locations are damaged, can't be repaired.
- re-fastened inner fender panel, drivers side
- replaced drivers side front hub assembly (ac delco) due to lateral play. passenger side seems ok
- greased steering pivot points
- repaired oil trap gasket (upper throttle body), temporary
- lubed all engine pivot points
- re-torqued exhaust manifold bolts. need to change gasket soon
changes to service information
- tail light stop and turn signals are now 3157 spade bulbs instead of 1157 twist lock
- tail light signal high wire (green) is now spiced to blue near socket
- realigned drivers side window, requires lower hinge rebuild for ideal alignment
- temp sender for gauge changes from green to yellow @ passenger intake manifold
- starter solenoid actuated via relay on passenger firewall which interrupts stock purple starter wire
